The difference between fire-baked waterproofing membrane and self-adhesive waterproofing membrane
1. The composition of materials is different
The fire-baked waterproofing membrane material is a modified bitumen SBS waterproofing membrane, which is made of polyester felt, glass fiber felt or glass fiber reinforced polyester felt as the carrier, and styrene-butadiene (SBS) thermoplastic elastomer as the asphalt modification. A waterproof membrane made of double-sided covering insulation material.
The self-adhesive waterproofing membrane is made of SBS and other synthetic rubber, tackifier and high-quality road petroleum asphalt as the base material, and the tough high-density polyethylene film or aluminum foil is used as the upper surface material. The peelable silicon-coated release film or silicon-coated release paper is a waterproof membrane made of an anti-stick release material on the lower surface.
2. The construction process is different
The construction of the fire-baked waterproofing membrane needs to first clean the base surface and apply the base coating, and then cut out the appropriate size of the coil and roll it up, then ignite the gas tank and start to heat and melt it while laying, and do a good job of sealing.
The self-adhesive waterproof membrane does not need to be so complicated, just tear off the isolation layer and slowly lay it on the side to make it firmly bonded to the base layer.
3. Different performance
Fire-baked waterproofing membrane has good corrosion resistance and durability, elasticity and low temperature waterproofness, and also has excellent fatigue resistance and crack resistance.
The self-adhesive waterproof membrane has good low temperature flexibility, self-healing and cohesiveness, fast construction speed, and meets the requirements of green environmental protection.
4. The scope of application is different
Fire-baked waterproof membrane is suitable for external waterproofing, whether it is the top of a building or an underground parking lot, any roof, basement, reservoir, swimming pool, etc. can be used. It is mostly used for the outer waterproofing of the top of the building or the outer waterproofing of the underground parking lot. Self-adhesive waterproofing membrane is suitable for roofing, basement, indoor, municipal engineering and reservoir, swimming pool and subway tunnel waterproofing of industrial and civil buildings. It is also suitable for waterproofing of wooden and metal structure roofs. It is especially suitable for waterproof projects such as oil depots, chemical plants, textile factories, grain depots, etc., which are not suitable for using open flames.
