There are 12 details to be aware of when applying waterproofing. Otherwise, it can lead to later alkalization, and in severe cases, if water leaks downstairs, it is necessary to remove the tiles and repaint the waterproofing, regretting that it was too late.

Please note the following details:

1. Grassroots cleaning: Before applying waterproofing, be sure to clean up dust, stones, wire, etc;

2. Ground leveling, after cleaning the base layer, level the cement and make a slope so that the ground will not sink, and the waterproof coating can also be applied more evenly;

3. For secondary drainage, a branch pipe is connected to the main sewer pipe, and the branch pipe is located at the caisson position, so that the accumulated water will flow towards the sewer pipe along the reserved slope;

4. Pay special attention to the protection of key areas, such as sewage pipes, floor drains, toilet pipe roots, and internal and external corners of wall corners. These are all areas that are prone to water leakage.

5. Water test: After applying waterproof coating and drying, conduct a closed water test with a minimum water injection height of 15CM or more. If there is no leakage within 24 hours, it is considered qualified;

6. Protective measures: After completing the closed water test, protect the waterproof layer from stepping on it;

7. When purchasing waterproof coatings, it is necessary to choose legitimate manufacturers and channels, and all waterproof materials and brand models must be personally inspected and accepted;

8. For the treatment of threshold stones, it is necessary to make threshold stones in the bathroom to prevent moisture from returning later on. Waterproofing should be applied above the intersection line between the threshold stone and the water stop pier;

9. Construction techniques: Brush one layer horizontally and one layer vertically to evenly fill the gaps. Apply twice with an interval of 1-2 hours;

10. Maintenance: After the waterproof coating is completed, dry and non stick hands can be maintained. Use clean water with not too much water flow to spray 3-4 times a day for 2-3 consecutive days;

11. Backfilling, some may use construction waste for backfilling, and due to uneven size, there may also be iron wires, sharp stones, etc., which can damage the water pipes and waterproofing. It is allowed to use ceramic particles or overhead, and after backfilling, one side of the waterproofing should be brushed again;

12. When renovating floor drains and waterways, remember to reserve invisible floor drains, also known as secondary drainage, in order to drain the accumulated water that seeps between the tiles and the second layer of waterproofing.
